MDdano. 2021 CX-5 Signature. Nov 6, 2020. #4. I’ve only had my 2021 for 4 days, but so far I am fine with no touchscreen. Only took 1 day not to reach for the screen. I do like ACP and the controller knob scrolls through ACP display pretty seamlessly. This is my first Mazda, so can’t compare to the previous screen (and SW).
Follow the steps-. Firstly, upgrading the Mazda connect firmware might fix this problem. To upgrade the firmware of your infotainment system, access the ‘settings’ from the screen. After that, select the ‘system’ tab. You can search for the system software section. Tap into the ‘system software.
Instruction: unzip to blank FAT32 formatted USB Drive and connect to car USB port. This will completely disable the touchscreen all the time. To re-enable the touchscreen you just run this same installer again, it will detect whether the screen is disabled or enabled and do the opposite. Like.
Note: I fixed it by putting gear in reverse and holding down the navigation and mute buttons at the same time. I just tried it on my week and a half old Mazda cx 5 touring 270 miles. My display went black today after putting it in reverse and holding the volume button down for a few seconds the display came back on.

The CX-50 and CX-90 already have wireless charging, wireless CarPlay, and CarPlay touch screen functionality. With the CX-9 gone after the 2023 MY, that leaves the yet unannounced 2024 MX-5 Miata as the only Mazda model not yet confirmed to finally have touchscreen and wireless functionality available for Carplay.
Mike E January 26, 2021. The Mazda CX5 Audio system problems can be caused by bad wires or damaged speakers. Much more commonly though they will be caused by a bad fuse. To get to the fuse box look to the left of the steering wheel look for a small seam or crack along the dash. Using a screwdriver or prybar you will want to pop this open.
The Mazda CX-5 is equipped with 10 Bose Speakers and five are installed ahead of the CX-5’s front seats. The Bose Premium Sound System for the CX-5 includes one 3.25” twiddler in the center of the instrument panel; two 1” tweeters; four wide-range speakers located across door panels; two additional twiddlers and one 5.25” woofer installed in the spare tire wheel well.
My girlfriend just bought a 2021 Mazda CX-5 and we would both prefer that the touchscreen was functional. Wherever we look online it was stated that it had a touch screen but really it’s just a display screen which was very misleading. It really wouldn’t be all that bad, but the control knob and volume knob are just in an awful position.
