That's horrible! At some point Canon is going to have to acknowledge this issue and do something about it. Or, they will run the risk of receiving
On the side of the lens are three adjustment buttons. 1.stabilizer on/off, 2.af/mf, and 3.20m-Full/infinity. Mine was set to infinity when it should be set at the other setting. This might help 🙂. Recently upgraded to R6 and works great with my Canon 70-200 and Tamron 18-400 lenses. However, I recently purchased the Canon RF 800mm and I am full polarization shifted the focus a large amount, about 1 inch from original focus point. (not visible in camera optical finder, only in zoomed 100% on camera LCD) This has stunned me! I had been seeing the focus un-sharp on images of faces up close using my 70-200 IS 4.0 & my 24-105 which is why I ran the test.

The other is that some Sigma lenses will have compatibility issues, and need a firmware update. And so, Sigma have released an advisory for certain Art and other lenses when being used with some of the newer Canon bodies. Those bodies include the 6D Mark II, EOS 77D, Rebel T7i (EOS 800D) and Rebel SL2 (EOS 200D). Fortunately, the cause of the

I got mine back and have only done some initial tests but it does not appear like the issue has been fixed at all, going to have to micro adjust my lenses again. Pretty dissapointing.

Dual Pixel CMOS AF and a DIG!C 7 processer deliver Canon’s fastest & most advanced focus and subject tracking system for live view and movie shooting Shift time Create impressive 4K time-lapse movies in camera - the EOS 6D Mark II can also track auto exposure for each image taken during the time-lapse sequence

Been using my Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary with my Canon 5D Mk III, Mk iV and 7D Mk II for 4 years now with great results. My main goal for the body upgrade was to get the much improved (so I thought) AF system on the R5/R6 and better ISO performance.
If your len (es) are O.K. and the lighting isn't extremely funky (backlit, fog, so dark you can't see), your 5D III should achieve nearly 100% lock. Perhaps playing with some different focus point patterns or focus modes will fix the issue. Look at the focus menu, particularly at the "Case" modes. AI Servo priority, etc.
