Battlefield started to introduce a story campaign since Bad Company 1, before it the game was multiplayer only on PC, still the campaign is not as deep in term of story telling as COD4, MW2 or Uncharted2. BC2 maps were tightly packed and vehicles weren't emphasized nearly as much. End result being the game was much more friendly to infantry players looking for instant action. IMO, BF3 and BF4 are superior Battlefield games, BC2 was a good spinoff in its own right. Sniping was so freaking fun and rewarding in BC2.
The campaign of bad company 2 could use some improvement, instead of the sandbox style campaign in the first bad company DICE has chosen to make the campaign to be a one way campaign. Although this is good for a first time play it is severely lacking in replay novelty.
